MY REVIEW

Make you Mine is the first book by Tia Louise which I've read and I absolutely LOVED it! This forbidden romance is emotional, heart-shattering, and utterly consuming.

The story starts out as a sweet small town romance with two star-crossed lovers who choose to pay no heed to their circumstances and act on their infatuation toward each other. However, as you keep reading, the story becomes more poignant and overwhelming. The main characters grow and mature as a result of the challenges thrown their ways, and the plot adds to the intensity and beauty of the story.

Grayson Cole is a fascinating character. He is kind-hearted, iron-willed, driven, and determined to rise above it all. His hard work and irrevocable love for Drew are definitely admirable. He reminds me a lot of Jay Gatsby and how the latter also defies the odds and betters himself in order to claim the love of his life.

Drew Harris is one of my favorite female characters. Despite her upbringing and her father's attempts to keep her and Grayson apart, she is adamant to be with her man. She is smart, reliable, humble, and caring. I absolutely admired her loyalty and devotion to Gray.

This book enthralled me and held a special place in my heart. It contains noteworthy themes such as the matter of acceptance and how we are always seeking society's approval. As I mentioned above, this book reminds me of Fitzgerald's the Great Gatsby, especially in the way Louise incorporated the notions of Old Money in her book. It shows that if you don't come from a well-respected and affluent background, people will always frown upon you and regard as inferior, no matter what you achieve or how far you go in life (like in Grayson's case).

Overall, Make you Mine is captivating and very moving. It includes all the things a reader desires in a beautiful romance: small town, young and ill-fated lovers, and a second chance at forgiveness and happily ever after.
