Title: Good Gone Bad
Series: Fallen Men #3
Author: Giana Darling
Genre: Contemporary Romance
BLURB:
They say one action doesn’t define you.
I killed a man. Stabbed him in the neck and licked the blood off my lips after I did it.
Still, one action doesn’t define you.
I could have called anyone. My father, the Prez of The Fallen MC, our family lawyer, my best friend, Lila, or my brother, King.
I didn’t.
Instead, I called Lionel Danner, the police officer renowned for taking down the Nightstalkers MC. The man who had been my father’s arch nemesis for decades. The man who hated everything I stood for. A man who had disappeared from my life without explanation three years ago.
I called him.
And maybe one action doesn’t define you, but killing a bad man and calling in the good changed my life and it sure as hell changed his.
The third book in the Fallen Men series. A standalone featuring Harleigh Rose and Officer Lionel Danner.
MY REVIEW
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Good Gone Bad is the third book in the Fallen Men series. It's a dark biker romance with a wild and rebellious heroine, explicitly well-written sex scenes, and a well-conveyed lesson in loyalty and the significance of family.
Giana Darling did a remarkable job in portraying the main characters (Harleigh Rose Garro and Lionel Danner), and highlighting the undeniable chemistry between the two of them. I remember reading Welcome to the Dark Side (book#1 in the Fallen Men series), and being in complete awe of Harleigh Rose’s character. She truly stood out as the ultimate biker babe and the black sheep of the Garro clan. So, I knew that the standalone book of her and Lionel Danner’s story was going to be pretty epic. And I wasn’t disappointed at all!
Harleigh Rose Garro was born and raised in the unforgiving MC world. Her father was the notorious Zeus Garro, president of the Fallen Men motorcycle club, and her mother was an abusive drug addict. Harleigh Rose shredded her innocence at a very young age when she was forced to watch the men in her father's club commit horrid deeds, and endure the beatings and insults of her mother. Even as a grownup, Harleigh Rose was constantly mistreated and abused by her boyfriend. However, in the darkness that seemed to envelop every aspect of her life, Harleigh Rose, found solace in the arms of a man who was the complete opposite of herself and the world she came from.
Lionel Danner was a police officer who followed a strict moral code and embraced unwavering ethics. He stumbled upon Harleigh Rose as she was merely a scrawny child with a foul mouth and an adamant attitude. He took her in, and provided her with affection, guidance, and protection, things which were lacking in Rose’s life due to her father’s imprisonment and mother’s carelessness.
Over the years, their relationship evolved from that of a damsel and her protector to one of two lovers who share a scorching connection, fervent infatuation, and explosive passion. They are completely different from each other, yet so compatible in an unconventionally wonderful way.
Harleigh Rose is without a doubt a strong and unbreakable character who builds unpenetrateable walls around her heart, and holds herself with a remarkable self-assurance that makes you think that she doesn’t have an ounce of insecurity in her system. But, her whole-bad-girl-in-no-need-of-redemption façade falls apart in the presence of her Lion. She trusts him enough to bare herself physically and emotionally to him, and he, on the other hand, embraces his wildest and darkest sexual fantasies and becomes her Dominant, yet loving master.
Good Gone Bad is such an unconventional and sinful romance with damaged, yet outstandingly tough characters, and a very healthy portrayal of BDSM. It is heart-shattering and awe-inspiring. It sheds light on the importance of family and loyalty, and emphasizes on how we are forever bound to those with whom we share blood and those we choose as friends and life-companions.
